Since about 1 month ago, my computer has been shouting at me. I am not joking it is really starting to annoy me.

I hear a man scream, and just now it said something, I'm not sure what it said.

Could this be a virus?
it comes out of the load speakers of my powerbook, over any music or dvd playing.

Please help.

If you're sure you don't have schizophrenia, then I'd say you might have Speakable Items turned on and you are encountering something that triggers it. Do you by chance run MacStumbler? I often forget that I have MacStumbler set to read the names of the access points it finds so I'm driving around and suddenly hear and old man saying "access point, Linksys".

if you turn the main system volume down or off, does it affect the voice?

my guess would be speakable items as well. i highly doubt virus, there are no known viruses for OS X and any to be found would cause a stir in the mac community...

aside from the speakable items, you could be running another program that may trigger "shouting" or, there is an off chance u could be getting interference from radios or something...and the really off chance that your computer was made from relics of old leprechauns who are haunting you...could happen...i mean WHO thought HP and APPLE...i think il take my chance with the leprechauns

hehe, it was not speakable items, and no I don't have mac tumbler, if it said a word that was on the page then I would understand, but it shouts agh!!!!!

I not messing you around, I post serious questions on this forum all the time, look at my history if you don't believe me.
