With the new intel macs, I have already bought an iMac. Yet unfortunately,
Mr.MacBook came along and lured me into it.
My dad bought this for me, because i had a very good reason of my HD was defective. So the macbook comes along and he probably won't let me xcnge...:( now, I really am missing my portability and I am way to scared to ask my dad if i could could exchange to a MacBook(intel izbook) Waht do i do????This is driving me mad!

EDIT:
The man at compaq said in my particular laptop they couldn't replace the HD

Are you near an apple store? You can buy it at a brick and mortar store, instead of online. How did you buy the iMac?

Just enjoy your imac, it is a great computer. Save YOUR money and buy a macbook when you can afford it. Trust me, if the worst thing in your life is that you have an imac instead of a macbook, then you are doing okay. Smile and start saving...

Your account balance is:
$1.99

That is why I said to save your money. Sometimes you have to wait for the things you want. I know it stinks, but it is life. Don't feel bad, sometimes my account balance is 1.99 after making my mortgage payment. :D

I would just be happy with the computer you have since its a good computer and all. If you can still return the iMac then ask your dad if you can and wait until the macbooks come out. The other option is to just buy like a $300 dell laptop or you could get a old clamshell ibook for cheap. But I would just suck it up and be glade you have a new computer and then buy a laptop a couple years down the road. Thats my 2 cents take it or leave it.

I just want to see if I understand this correctly. Your father just bought you a brand new iMac. And you are annoyed that you didn't wait long enough to get a MacBook, even though you had to know an Intel-based iBook replacement was on the way. You aren't allowed to buy anything on the Internet, so you must be young.

So, to summarize, your dad bought you a brand new Mac and you're pissed that he won't let you trade it in at a loss to buy yet another brand new Mac.

Does that about cover it?

You forgot to mention the part that he actually has enough to buy one, but it would only leave him 1.99 in the bank.

Right. Sorry about that detail. ;)

I'm very impressed that he knows exactly what the new MacBooks will cost.

Wow I wish people would buy me a computer. If a son of mine complained about a new iMac just because it's not the latest and greatest I would seriously take back the iMac and let him buy his own computer. Be thankful for any gifts you get seriously. Why does a kid even need a macbook pro in the first place? Way too much power for just internet and some games lol. I've had my emac for 3 years while getting my degree in engineering and it serves its purpose just fine. Why are people so ungrateful these days?

First of all, please learn the english language. I'm getting a headache reading your posts. Try right clicking and hit 'check spelling as you type'

Second of all, don't complain. Many people have to work hard to buy their Macs, and you get them handed to you.

You know, that makes alot a sense. Heres the kicker.

My dad wants me to have this very same original intel iMac for like 10 years!!
So you might wanna change that couple years down the road to like 12 years down the road!
