I'm sure I'm probably missing something here, but I think my dock is messed up. I have only the icons in a row along the bottom, but there is nothing between them, no "light gray background."

How do I enable that? Thanks.

the funny part is that i've been wanting to do this to my MBP but can't :p

i think it looks better that way

Is there any chance that you or someone else may have installed Cleardock and forgotten it was there?

In System Preferences, see if there is an Applicaton Enhancer icon down in the Other section. If it's there, open it and see if Cleardock is there. Again, if yes, uncheck it in the left column, then press the Apply button.

Thanks. That was it, and it officially makes me an idiot. I saw someone talking about the app, and I kinda downloaded and installed it in the background while browsing the net, and forgot I did it. Wow, I feel stupid. I appreciate the help nonetheless.

Thanks!

Two notes.

1. "Or someone else" was an open invitation to blame an evil twin.

2. That's how I knew what to look for. My evil twin is always installing stupid little programs behind my back.
