Well El capitan has surely held up to my expectations of performance. I am not a pro user maybe that is the case why. However El capitan seems so much more stable than Yosemite which to me until 10.10.4 was a complete disaster. I used to get somewhere around 5-6 and a half hours with web browsing with my MBA 11" 2014 version and now that has increased to its actual potential of about 8-9 hours of web browsing. Performance has increased massively too. I used to get around 180-250 write speeds at best with Yosemite. Now with el capitan this is the result. I used to get this kind of write speeds when I freshly bought my mac installed with Yosemite. This is a huge bump and very welcome performance improvement for me really.

However I have been facing some issues lately which I hope you guys here can help me solve.

1. Maybe I am doing something wrong but I am unable to use the checklist in notes app. Screen Shot 2015-10-06 at 7.58.51 PM.jpg

The checklist button is just dimmed out and not pressable. i am unable to bring the checklist option with the shortcut either. Maybe there is something I need to do which I may have missed out for this? Please help on this.

2. This is actually a big issue for me because it hinders my normal browsing experience. Whenever I take my mouse pointer towards the leftwards edge, the favourites bar pops on everytime. And I frequently experience this due to my browsing habits probably. Please help me solve this issue.

My El Capitan experience is just fine. Just fine. Not such awesome speed as you see. Sometimes it will take long enough time to respond a single action. Stability is better than Yosemite, though.
About your issue, for notes, if you have that courage, you can try to update notes on your other devices running iOS 9. Maybe this will solve your problem.
For safari one, I have different browser habit and I rarely touch left edge. In fact, I don't use safari in full screen mode. At least, not that much. So that feature is ok for me. However, there is no official ways to stop it from appearing.

If iOS 9 is the solution I highly doubt if i am going that path. I use notes a lot and this checklist option can help me a lot. If I am unable to do that I will be back to evernote.:)

You need to convert Notes on the Mac to the new iCloud format in order to use the checklist option. Doing so will prevent note synching with IOS devices not running IOS9.

During the beta, I did not convert to the iCloud format, but any notes that I created in the "On My Mac" section could use the new features. I just could not sync them to my iPhone.
