my imac came by ups and had a damaged box,a large foot print on the box where it was either pushed or stood on and the machine had been given go little care there was damage to the logic board, apple is fixing it in store as it was a refurb and apples policy with refurbs is not to replace in first 14 days but refurb and there was a chance that they wouldnt have the same machine in stock for this price so apple store for fix it is that was 3 weeks ago they rang 4 days ago to say the screen was also damaged after they fixed logic board so are currently awaiting replace screen to arrive, although i cant fault the work the store is doing, i bought my machine over three weeks ago and have yet to use it and feel this is very poor.

i just want my machine

Dude.

What the hell? That makes virtually no sense whatsoever... Try a full stop of two! ;)

Anyway, how much did you pay for the refurb iMac?

holy crap - you're right. there's only 1 full stop in that, right at the end of that massive sentence.

i didn't really notice at first since i stopped reading the first several words when it started to make no sense :p

but from what i can guess...
UPS was ****...
Apple is repairing the refurb since they don't replace them...
Repairs is taking longer than expected.... they're waiting for parts...
OP wants his machine :p

Personally I'd just send it back - all refurbs have a 30 day return policy don't they?

Although you think you've got a good deal and therefore don't want to return, do you really think it's that great a deal? Your brand new iMac's been trodden on, and needs repairs already.

yes exactly lol.

i paid £1359.00 on the refurb store which is a lot for a machine i havent been able to use yet.

Tell them you want a replacement or your money back. Even at refurb prices that machine is damaged goods. I wouldn't be able to trust it.

i just hope with the new logic board and screen that the machine will be great.

the apple store are making a case out of it against apple, apple store thinks i might get something from apple for the inconvenience but id be happy for an apology.

That is crap, refurbs are entitled to the same warranty as a new machine. I received 2 replacements when I bought my laptop a couple years ago.

There is no way I would accept that machine after it had so many parts replaced. If the store refuses to replace the unit, I would demand a refund.

call apple they'll send you one by tomorrow afternoon and they will give you a credit.. they do that for everybody..

i really mean no offense by this, but if you decide to sit home and do nothing it's your own fault..

i've bought 2 refurb imacs, the first ones have both come with defects and second ones perfect.. when i call apple they send me an email.. as soon as i ship it to them they send me another one that gets there in less than 24hrs and they give me a credit.. best customer service over the phone..

at the store.. meh not so good

im finding it the other way round the store staff are much better than uk call centre staff, policy on refurbs is refund not replacement as the cannot guarantee a similar machine would be in stock.

not sitting t home doing nothing its in the store being fixed whereas sending back would mean no replacement unfortunately.

Am I right in thinking you paid £1359 for a refurb 27" with i7 and 2TB HDD?

Seems like an amazing price

It depends on the machine as well. It looks like your refurb has 8GB and 2TB HDD, that is extremely unusual for a refurb.
