My favorite iOS 9 feature hands down is

The "back" button. I love that if a link or notification sends you to another app from the app you're in the target app has a "back" button to take you back to where you were.

use case:

You're reading an e-mail which contain a link. you click the link and Safari opens the site. Once finished you can click the "back" button that appears at the top left to go back to your e-mail.

No need to use the task switcher or to press home and tap the mail icon again (for those who dont use the task switcher).

The back button also appears if you trigger another app through the notification center or from a notification banner. Great little feature in iOS 9.

I can only highlight lines with that gesture. Is there a way to move the cursor using it?

I got it to work once, and now I cannot figure it out.

Hands down though, split screen multitasking is the best feature out of all of them. It works great, there is no lag; it just works.

hmm, that IS convenient, kinda glazed over it at the keynote but the way you described it and all the memories of hitting the home button twice to switch between apps and the thought of not having to do that or doing it a lot less is nice

one case it's not implemented that I'd like to see is when you switch to an app from the control centre. eg I just want to do a quick calculation and then get back to my last app

I got it to work once, and now I cannot figure it out.

highlight mode is activated when you long press the keyboard. just move your fingers immediately after placing them on the keyboard to move the text cursor.

I think this will be enough for iPhone as a "multitask" feature. Not having to double click and switch every time I need to use the calculator would help a lot. Not as good as split screen, but I'm guessing situations where side by side is really needed won't be that much for me.

That's definitely one of the better workflow improvements that should have been there long ago really. Now to deal with reaching that back link at the top left on the larger phones especially since the swipe action is probably not linked to it (I guess two handed use or reachability).

I wish the left edge swipe would activate that feature. It is placed oddly that's for sure.
