I've been really impressed with these so far. Looking forward to next week to see what they come up with. So far I prefer them to Spotify's version.

Has anyone else checked them out? Thoughts?

Mine is completely wrong. My first mix was filled with pop and R&B songs that I would never listen to. Stuff like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Ellie Goulding (I don’t even know who that is) and some French auto-tune rapper (I have no French songs in my library at all). My new mix is now filled with game and film soundtracks, 19 out of 25. I haven’t listened to soundtracks in general or these songs in months, some of them I never even listened to at all (just added them to my library for completion). I really don’t get where it obtains this feedback from. What should I do to make it understand?

The last couple of months I almost exclusively listened to indy rock, electronic music and some jazz. There is absolutely nothing of this in my mix. :(

That's a shame, I not certain how it works, but would have thought it was done to your likes and what was selected under your profile. Hope it improves for you.

Mine was refreshed this morning, had another good selection of tracks. So another thumbs up from me.

That’s the thing, I checked all the likes I gave using a smart playlist. I also went through the setup again to choose some genres and artists. Nothing out of the ordinary.

I never see crap like Katy Perry. My mixes have been dead on accurate. Way better than any other service I used.

Soundtracks are fine as long as they are orchestrated instrumental music.
I don't have a problem with Soundtracks or Katie Perry, to be honest. I just don't listen to either of them enough to show up in my suggested music.

I don't think of Soundtracks as a genre, to be honest. They are made up of every genre under the sun. From "Sid and Nancy" to James Bond to Urban Cowboy and Bird. There is something for everyone in this category. I am sure some music that was suggested for me actually has appeared in movies. One suggestion, off the top of my head was James Brown, so there is a good chance it made its way to the soundtrack from the movie about his life.

New music mix this week is crap. Rap and explicit crap in there. One track even had the name baddest B***hes (not censored title but grayed out) in it really Apple I voted it disliked. I just don't understand how new music is so bad these days not. I mean really bad not only vulgar but even in the song titles.

However favorites mixes all older music is correct I love all the songs there.

The problem with these generated playlists, for someone like me with very eclectic taste, is that they are all over the map genre-wise. Like Selena Gomez literally back to back with Nat King Cole. It's jarring, unless you just bounce around in it to check out suggestions.

I'm not impressed so far. The "Genius" programming back in the iPhone 4 days was smarter.

I agree. I listen to music from big bands, rock and roll, classic rock, disco, 80's Rock, 80's and 90's country, 80's and 90's R&B and 80's and 90's Pop up to 2006. Also anything newer than that year is smooth jazz, bossa nova or orchestrated soundtracks. I don't touch any of the mainstream pop, EDM and rap crap so it is displeasing to still see it in the new music list but not surprised since 80% of the new music is explicit rap and EDM garbage.

I think these are supposed to be eclectic mixes if that is what your tastes dictate. For music that is based on genre or band, they have provided numerous other playlists. I like the eclectic mix on occasion, which is less jarring and more of a "wonder what they will play next situation". The point, especially of the new music mix, is to provide you with a bunch of new songs you "might" like based on your past choices and introduce you to new artists/albums that you might want to explore further. So far, at least for me, it has been very useful in that respect.

I haven't had EDM or rap show up in my playlist yet. The lists have been great, so far. However, they haven't been doing this long enough to know if it will stay that way.

Also forgot to say the new music is flawed because some of the artist when they were great in the 80's, 90's release new music this decade that sucks and could be explicit which messes up my new music list.

You may want to just skip the new music mixes then. Apple is making a judgement based on your past listening, so if you listen to a lot of 80s U2, chances are U2 will show up when they have a new album. I haven't experienced much of that and I listen to a lot of older music. They seem to find similar current music. I think they use sub genres to pinpoint the differences. I have been pretty amazed by a lot if the stuff they have picked out for me. Part of that may be the fact that I have used Apple Music for most of my music since it launched ( including most of the day at work), so they have a lot of data to go by.

This doesn't work at all with none of my devices. The new music mix and favorites do not show up at all. Any tips?

New music mix is better. I checked it today. A few explicit tracks grayed out most likely modern R&B however I found one good new smooth jazz album. As I said the only new music I listen to is smooth jazz, world and Christian. I use to listen to EDM Trance but Trance is Trouse and sounds just like modern Top 40 which I hate.

Well great but it doesn't even show up for me. Subbed to Apple music about a month ago.
