My 12.9 first gen iPad Pro seems like it is unable to hold a charge. The past couple of times I turned it on it was dead and last night I charged it all night, unplugged it and I just turned it on and it was dead.
1. How can I verify that it is the battery and not some app that is killing it?
2 is it worth it to replace the battery? How much does it cost?

thanks.

Update: It shows the icon that it needs to be plugged in when I turn it on so I plug it on and now it shows the Apple icon turns in and shows it is at 100%
Anyone have any idea what is going on? This is the second time it’s done this in past two days
Thanks.

To have the battery serviced is £99 plus £8 shipping, probably the same price in USD, perhaps a little more if you're in Europe or Canada. Considering how much the new 12.9 costs, probably worth it over a new one if you're otherwise happy with your iPad!

Go to your local Apple Store.

If you factory reset your ipad, if it holds a charge and works fine, then you know it's some software issue that you have. That will be what the Apple Store will tell you to do. I'd assume that you have some form of backup of your iPad.
