My first iMac should be here by Friday

I have a Dell XPS 9100 i7, ect right now with a dell 24" 2408. I think W7 is cool, but I can't capture viceo from my HD camcorder via the firewire which is very frustrating. I have spent more then an hour on the phone with Dell and MS about this issue. Change this setting and that one..... Still does not work.

As others have noted, I was looking very hard at a 21.5" refurb. I do have a 24" LCD now, hmm the 27" kept on calling my name.

I found a "pretty good deal" on ebay for the following:

27" iMac w/ i7.
8gb ram
1tb hd
ATI Radeon 4850 HD with 512MB
Apple care till March 2013

Bing cashback 8% and buy now pay later $100 credit from paypal, made it a pretty good deal at under $1800.

The seller still has the original box and will put that into another box. So say a prayer for me that UPS does not drop it.

Someone is already coming to pickup my 2408 LCD today. I'll put the tower on CL this weekend.

I just need to get a 6 to 9 pin adaptor or cable for my HD camcorder. Will any work?

PS I bought the wife a 32gb iPad wi-fi last week. I'm not sure who likes it better, she or our 7 yr old daughter.

The seller was able to get it out early so it arrived today. He had double boxed it and it arrived in 1000% mint condition.

No yellow tinting issues that I can see so far.

Now to learn the ways of mac.

It's Friday for me too

Hi....I'm expecting my delivery today,too...LOL...what a coincidence. I'm just getting the new 21" basic entry. So excited and now I have to learn how to switch from Windows to Mac. Hope it's not much of a struggle.

I fall for it because of the sleek design, added with wireless mouse n keyboard. Less wires to worry about.

At the point of writing...I'm still waiting for the delivery...

There may be less wires to worry about, but it costs you a fortune in batteries

i bought a new 21.5 mac on monday this week, i also bought a mag called SNOW LEOPARD GENIUS GUIDE,i bought the mag because i had no experience with the imacs. now i will never go back to a windows pc, FANTASTIC MACHINE...

I agree!!!

Spending a few hours today getting everything customized to my liking. Switched from yahoo to gmail so I can use the imac's email with multi gmail accounts. Could of done it with yahoo, but needed a pop mail at $20/account.

No I have an issue....I got load of songs (ripped from original CDs) and my friends told me all the songs in my iPhone will be erased if i sync it with my new iMac...that's not good.....not good at all.

Do I need to download a software for that....? How can I restore all those songs? Hmmm.....

Where is your old iTunes library? If it was on a Mac the easiest solution is to copy the entire iTunes Music folder to your new Mac.
