So wanted to post since I bought it on 6/29/07, today I had my first iPhone crash. I had a calendar alert pop-up so I did the slide to unlock and it took me to the calendar entry as normal, then....nothing. Touchscreen didnt' work, the sleep/wake didn't work, home button didn't work. I had to hold home+sleep/wake button for a few seconds to reboot it.

Given it's only the first time it's happened, I'm quite impressed but still a tad disappointed that it happened in the first place since I wasn't doing anything strenuous to it.

I hope this doesn't start happening too often because that is something that truly drives me nuts. For example, my favorite thing about Blackberry devices is their stability, I can use them as I want for MONTHS without a crash/freeze or even rebooting them and it makes it a pleasure to use since you know it'll always work when you want it to. Windows Mobile is the other side of the spectrum which is amazing when it works but for me required frequent reboots, etc.

Here's hoping it doesn't happen again for another 3-4 weeks at a minimum.

iPhone Dies in my shorts

OK, I think I remember enough of high school physics to have figured this one out. I'm awaiting my armband, so in the meantime, when I go walking, I've been tucking the iPhone in my gym shorts. It plays music just fine for about 45 minutes, then dies.
I can reboot it after a few minutes. I strongly suspect the problem is one of heat: the battery can't vent and gets, shall we say, very warm.

Of course heat is one enemy of anything electric.

Don't have the problem when I carry it externally.

Just my 2 cents

I have had 3-4 safari crashes and they seem to consistently occur with big message boards other then this one :D

Maybe its the size of the forums or some flash/java stuff on them but it sucks
