Hi everyone, today I went to the shop and shut my macs lid and turned the power off like usual, when I came back I had to log in with my password and was told my computer shut down due to a problem- it was a kernel panic.

I thought kernel panics are bad things that once they occur keep happening, I had the log with exactly what it states, then stupidly had problems getting into my google account and had to use a number which I copy and pasted losing the whole kernel panic.

From what I read, It seemed like core 0 had something go wrong, although I don't fully understand the message. I sent it to apple as well.

So, am I screwed and this will keep happening, or can these things just be a one off? I am really worried as I can not afford a new machine at the moment.

It can definitely be a one off, don't worry until it happens multiple times.
OK thank you, I have never had a Kernel panic since switching to mac in 2010 so I was quite worried that I had one on a fairly new machine.
Hopefully it doesn't happen again as it did really worry me, if it happens again I will make sure to copy and paste what it says on the forum.

The report gets stored somewhere, I think under /Library/Logs. Mine panics after 2-3 weeks of uptime, reliably every time, not once has my M1 Max made it to 4 weeks of uptime. My panics are clearly a bug in MacOS and can be avoided entirely be rebooting every 2 weeks. So panics can be entirely software bugs that you can ignore, but panics can also be a sign that hardware is malfunctioning. So it's best to get that report and see if we can spot what's causing it. If it's the hardware you will notice though because generally panics due to hardware issues will be very, very frequent.
