i just picked up the macbook pro, loving it so far. i have another pc, with 3 seperate hard drives i was wondering how can i mount the drives onto the desktop. i am able to access the drives i can mount them, but i want the mounts to stay there after i restart, if thats possible. i tried to make shortcuts to the drives, when i click on the shortcut it mounts the drive, but then i get two drive icons, one shortcut and one the actually mount. was wondering if theres a way to just mount the drive just like how the mac hd is there. sorry im a newb :eek:D

i keep my network drive aliases nice and tidy in the dock - just drag the mounted drive icon onto the dock, next to the trash. You still have to click it to mount it, but if you're using a portable that's not always going to have access, then auto-mounting might not be such a good idea in any case.

If you do want to auto-mount, the people who make the lovely Sharepoints, also do an automounter app
