I couldn't hold out any longer for the Core 2 Duo {Merom} chips so I just went ahead and made the switch from the PC World to the Mac World by purchasing a MacBook Pro.

It's specs are as follows:
2.16GHz Intel Core Duo
1GB 667 DDR2- 1 SO-DIMM
100GB Serial ATA drive@5400rpm
SuperDrive (DVD+/-RW/CD-RW)
Glossy Widescreen Display
No optional SW
BkLit Keyboard/Mac OS
Airport Extreme Card&BT

And I also purchased the CANON PIXMA IP6220D PHOTO PRINTER that's $99.00 or free w/ the $100 Mail-In Rebate.
I do plan on using BootCamp b/c I am an engineering student. I only will use Windows for AutoCAD. Nothing Else.

I am excited beyond belief :D . I cant wait until October 6th, the day my first Mac will be delivered to my doorstep.

Welcome to Mac OS X! That's a nice machine you have coming. I'm jealous. But I do love my MacBook.

very nice, I bought a 2.0 model (when it was the highest spec) with 2gig ram.. and one for the wife too..

soon after, went out and bought a Canon Pixma MP800 printer/scanner, very very nice, and works exceptionally well with the MBP, despite the software not being universal... runs off my airport express too... very happy!

I love the backlit keyboard

I would have bought the macbook pro if I had more money. The backlit keyboard is something I didn't know so now i'm jealous. I strongly recommend upgrading to 2GB of memory to enjoy the complete extraordinary experience of your macbook. I have 2gb and now everything runs instantly. Especially safari, browsing takes 1 sec or less, it's ridiculously fast.
I run like 8 programs at the same time and everything still runs ridiculously fast.
Congratulation to your new macbook, Cheer !

Ship Shortened

Original Estimated Arrival Date: October 6th

Next Estimated Arrival Date: October 4th

New Estimated Arrival Date: October 3rd ;)

Current Status: Departed from FedEx in Anchorage, Alaska.

Too bad I live all the way in Florida. :(
Has this happened to anyone else? Ship dates get earlier and earlier?
