...was today playing L4D2, and I absolutely loved it. I've always been a console gamer in the past but stopped at the PS2 era because I was broke and because grad studies ate up most of my time.

My Core Duo Macbook was no good for playing games (except the brilliant World of Goo), so finally with the release of Steam and my new 13" MBP I've been playing online. And yes of course "Waaah! Apple sux for gaming!1! Why haven't you bought a cheap PC??!?", but you have to start somewhere.

There are some hurdles for me to overcome, I'm staying with my parents at the moment, and only have access to an old school one button Apple mouse, and I don't own a microphone, but still. A seed has been planted.

Yes a rambling post, and something I'm sure most of you take for granted, but still. If you fancy adding me on steam I'm jacqueshughes

Glad your enjoying it. Just like with Portal there will be updates to make it run smoother on Apple hardware as the weeks go by. Both from via Steam and Apple updating Snow Leopard :)

Glad you are enjoying your online gaming experience. I recall when i first started playing online, it was Unreal Tournament back in 1999 on a dial up connection.

Man the lag was crazy on some servers.

Quite the hurdle. Get a good 4 button mouse/trackball with a scroll wheel. :)

Heh heh I know it. Luckily I have a good mouse in my flat, but sadly no internet (can't afford it). Whenever I go back to the 'rents I forget said mouse and have to use the old school one button affair. Not usually a problem when word processing, but when it comes to alt firing in a hurry it certainly becomes an issue...

My first experience was with Duke Nukem 3d. I would do a direct modem to modem conection with my firends down the street and enjoy some Fun Co-Op Duke 3d. Those were the times.
