My first experience on mac osx. It was so amazing.
My mac is a 2.4GHz 20" alu iMac with memory upgraded to 3GB.
It didn't come with Leopard operation system because I bought it from amazon. Need to pay another $10 to get it. The happiest thing is that I haven't encountered any problem by far. ^_^

Awesome, and congrats on your new baby. Even after 4 yrs using a Mac I'm still excited to get home and sit down in front of it. So many cool things you're about to discover. You'll make slide shows in iPhoto, make movies in iMovie, send photos in emails using 1 click, etc. Really a great experience. One of the coolest things is that between the forums here and the Apple Discussion boards, there has never been a problem that I haven't been able to solve. The responses are very quick and the help is always there. Such a great support system. One word of advice, get Apple care before your 1 year is up. I had to replace the superdrive on my G4 after 2 yrs and the warranty paid for itself right then and there.
Enjoy and let us know how you're getting along.

Thanks for sharing your experience and your advice.
People from this forum are very kind.

They really are great computers aren't they, Defiantly buy the warranty it can pay itself off very quickly as Italchef said. As for leopard I would wait there are still some problems with it. Buy it but wait till 10.5.2 Then install.

Enjoy yourself.
Pop up a bottle of champagne.
I myself drowned a bottle of cheap vodka (had no money left) the night after I purchased my first mac four years ago.

Congrats on the new iMac! They are amazing machines and for the price, you can't beat it! Plus, all that aluminum and glass is so damn sexy! Don't be fooled by people on the forums saying the screen is horrible and you should return it immediately. They are just out for attention (a few of them are; not all). Happy Maccing! :)

I could not agree more. Just got my machine a few hours ago and I'm stunned. The 24" display is truly beautiful.

After using Windows PC's for the last 16 years or so, it is jarring to see how elegant and quick Leopard is. So well done!

Wow, wow, wow is really all I can say.

Well I'm new to the mac scene and am typing on my awesome new iMac as well. It really is a nice looking computer and I get compliments everyday on it. I couldn't be happier with my choice.
Enjoy! :)

Had my Alu mac for two months now and its been great. Learning new things about OSX every day still.

Best thing I have done in years is to switch from Windows.

Enjoy.

Is it not just too amazing? Welcome to the best way of computing; but a question... how did you settle on 3gigs of ram? Enjoy...:apple:

I bought a 2GHz crucial ram from newegg ($60) and followed the instruction of the iMac manual. It's quite simple :):)
