6000 people are without power to ight. I am one of them. And sinCe we bought this house, we have not gotten a flash light. I NEEDED it to find my lighter to light some candles.

As long as you didn't pay for one. Since you can open mail up and go to sparsely used mailbox and should have about the same about of white screen.
This actually happened to me last weekend. My wife and I went to see The Dark Knight. On the way out, I reached into my pocket to get the parking validated. That's when I realized my wallet was gone. I had $1600 in cash in there that was supposed to be deposited earlier that day if I wasn't so damn lazy. So we run back to the theatre and searched the area where we sat. We couldn't remember the exact row, so we had to search the general area. It was so dark and messy down there that it was almost impossible to pick out. Well to make a long story short, I used the trusty flashlight app to search up and down the rows of seats to verify that my wallet was indeed no where to be found, that is until I checked my other pocket. My wife didn't speak to me until the following morning.
yea.. last night was pretty horrible. we had NO power for 8 hours. Obviously i wanted to reserve my ipphone batter for keeping myself busy, so once i got my lighter, i was done with the flashlight.. but i'm HAPPY I got it! although i would have never PAID for one.

there was a tornado type effect going on and a HUGE electrical storm. I had no idea what the ACTUAL issue was. Lighting hit the marsh across the street from my house so there were firetrucks in front of out house all night because of the fire it caused.. there were flood sirens going off for flash flood warnings because we live right near a beach.
and in the town my mom lives, a few towns away - they were telling people to get in their basements and hide because there might be a tornado. For some, thats normal, but around here - we MAYBE get a SMALL tornado once a year. If that./

oh crap.. you are in Greenwhich, you guys got it BAD! My mom was in stratford, right near the airport and she called me from the crawlspace. The trees breaking and river through the streets were pretty scarey. I didnt get the AWFUL storm, that one went out to sea. I got the smaller one that was in Monroe and it was ALL lightening.
