My Geekbench score for 5,1 MacPro

I have recently received my 2010 5,1 Mac Pro. My system specs are as follows:

12 Core
2.66 Ghz
6 GB Ram (standard that it came with)
1 TB HD (Standard too)
ATI 5870 Video Card


I ran geekbench with the following results:

I think I have an appropriate score compared to other recently posted 2010 12 core systems... seems like the guys over at barefeets barely broke 23,000 with a 23,099 score - which I couldn't do on my system, but he has more ram (12gb I think). Is my score acceptable? Should I being doing something different to break 23k? I just made sure other apps were closed and ran 64 bit Geekbench, I didnt know any other tricks. Any thoughts appreciated.

Not too bad, I got 25K with my 2.93 12-core.
 
Strausd,

Can you link to your score? What are your other specific system specs? How much RAM do you have?

I am pretty sure my score for my specs is appropriate, and not low - I would expect you to beat me with a 12 core 2.93GHZ system - especially if you have more the the 6gbs of stock ram.

Anyone else care to weigh in?
 
Geekbench isnt completely truthful anyway, your never going to get that performance in the real world. My 2008 2.8 8 core is getting 12800 and i think that goes like stink.

Its about what you use it for not what you get in geekbench.
 
I have the 2.93GHz Quad Core 2009 model. I ran Geekbench 64 on the machine when it first arrived in my hands, and I scored 10,354. With 3 times as many cores as mine, shouldn't a 12-core 2.93GHz Mac Pro be up in the 30,000 range. I see that the score is around 25,000. That is only 2.5 times more power. Maybe it is because the score factors in graphics and memory as well and averages them all.

Here were my scores on the 2.93GHz Quad-core Mac Pro with 6GB RAM (I have 16GB of RAM installed now, and my score is slightly lower):

You should re-run your score since you have a 3.2ghz now and a SSD, should be more than 10k :)

Btw, my 2.8Ghz MP 5,1 with 6GB RAM, have only 8908 points done after a reboot, weird...
