When I was charging my iPad last night, I had it on my chest and my other hand rested on my girlfriends back, and it felt like she was electric when I had one hand on the iPad and one on her.*

Is this normal? Is it safe?

I think the same thing happened to me. Whenever my iPad is plugged in and I touch the back it's like I can feel the current if that makes sense

Positive and Negative static charge when working with electrical appliances, be careful as you can give your girlfriend a very painful electric shock, and not in a kinky way, a way in which she will take your iPad out your hand and snap it in half in anger, to stop this static charge, wash your hands and PAT NOT RUB your hands dry, occurs when rubbing your hands against clothing/cloth/similar material ;)
