When I record my voice, I have no problem recording, but when I use the same microphone to record my acoustic guitar, it doesn't record at all. I have a new Motu Audio/MIDI interface. Everything is set properly in system preferences, privacy and security and GarageBand itself, my operating system is updated to Sonoma 14.1, my GarageBand is up to date as well (10.4.8). The volume is not an issue. I purchased a new external pickup for my acoustic guitar and got no response at all. Please help me. I am at my wit's end.

Sounds like it comes down to the "new external pickup for my acoustic guitar"…which you didn't specify.
