I have it set to United Kingdom region and it’s says I have no sources about that. How do I get it working?

It probably uses location services and seeks the closest location to you. Maybe?
That sucks. I thought it would still work just like the news app works even though I’m in Norway with the U.K. region setting.

Another reason might be that you don't have podcast app installed. Siri uses it.
If you have Podcast app installed then unfortunately I don't know how to help you.
Try other regions such as the US or Australia?

Apple's support for European countries in general sucks.:/

Yep, pretty sure it's using your real location - doesn't work for me in Canada either. (why Australia before Canada for the news app??)

Have my location set to US so I get the news app, and have news sources in the podcast app, but nadda. Siri won't do it.

Working fine for me, though I’m in the UK.

Then it uses your real location in order to get your local news.

How does Android make everything worldwide kinda immediately? Starting from the languages and so on?

Maybe Android doesn't look at what the user puts in their configuration for location. In this instance, those of us outside of the UK, US and Aus have set our location to be one of these to get the News app. Unfortunately, this Siri feature appears to be using your actual location.

Apple's being a little sneakier than just having location services enabled or not....disabling that doesn't get us the functionality.

Maybe it's using the country that your Apple ID is in? (I somehow doubt any of us are willing to give up all of our store purchases just for this feature) :)

It works fine, but you have to have the podcasts app installed and then press it.

Yes, all I get is a brief 3 minute BBC news summary; on the Echo or Google Home you can set up the news to your liking.
