Hi there.

Finally my 27" i7 is here, mid-2010 model. As you have read in my other post, I decided to go with the current model as I believe I don't think I'll need the new features with the new ones.

Here's a pic of my desk, it is messy so bear with me  :

Anyways, so far the machine is just awesome. I don't know why I've been using Windows all this time

I have a question, whenever I turn on my iMac, there is a "sound" that comes from the lower left corner of the machine. It is a bit loud when I first turn on the machine or wake it from sleep, but after a while, 2-3 hours, the sound is gone.

Is this normal? Or should I take it for checkup? I can't take it to Apple because I'm in Kuwait, but they do have an authorized reseller with a service center, but they charge $$$

Could be because of the indexing of spotlight

Anyway you could record the sound and upload it? It is hard to say anything when you didn't even describe the sound but recording it would be even better.

Hmmm, IMO that sounds like the fan is hitting something. CPU and its fan are pretty close to the left bottom corner so could be that.

How long have you had it? Since it goes away after awhile, it's possible that it will permanently go away after some time.

ِAlmost 4 days now.

As I'm typing, I can't hear anything. Its gone now. But as soon as the iMac sleeps, and I wake it up again, or shut it off and on, it comes back and the cycle goes on as I described before.
