I am moving soon, into a 3 bedroom condo and want to setup a sweet home theater system between multiple rooms. Home theater might not be the exact term to use but it gets the idea across.

What i would like to do is have a "hub" where my imac will be with all my itunes music and videos (this will be my office)

in my bedroom and living rooms, i would like to be able to play music and watch videos, both streaming from the imac/itunes in the office.

What exactly would i need to do this?

I have the TV's, one apple TV, 1 PS3. i think all i really need would be the device(s) to stream everything, and the device(s) to listen to the music

thanks for any advice!!

One option would be to put an ATV in each room along with the TV. This will allow you to stream/share movies, photos, and music that will be served from the iMac. Another feature is using the iPod touch as a remote for the apple tv's. I believe you can also sync the music between different rooms from the iMac to have whole house audio.

The ps3 will also be able to see the media on the iMac with the help of an additional program. Medialink and Rivet are two such programs. I prefer Rivet as that will also stream to DLNA compatible device, and the xbox 360. This would allow for more expandability to your system. Of course if you don't want to listen to music through the TV speakers you will want some sort of speaker or surround sound system.

You will have lots of options for doing what you want to do, its just a matter of choosing the best one.

are the reasonably priced stereos that could wirelessly get the music from my imac?

the express(s) will pick up my streaming content from the Imac correct?

yes, the express will stream music from the itunes on your iMac...

things to consider:
the express can only stream whatever is playing on the iMac
if you want two streams going to separate rooms, one of them will need to be an :apple:TV (attached to a television of course).
