-stock android
-4.7 to 5 inch screen 1080p
-IPS display such as iPhone and LG, or SLCD3
-Razr Maxx like battery life
-slim form factor with very little bezel
-on screen keys or capacitive home, menu, and back button
-the iPhone 5 camera or better
-speakers at the bottom (like iPhone) or front (like HTC One)
-great call quality and of course the latest processor, gpu, etc.
-power button on top to the right like iPhone or on the right side like Samsung

Will my dreams ever be fulfilled? I honestly don't think I am being unreasonable.

I can go two routes--either a 4.7" display iPhone with eased restrictions on iOS or an HTC One with a few more 'ultrapixels' and a menu button of some sort (a long hold of an existing button would be fine).

I'd be happy with a slightly larger screened RAZR HD MAXX, but for AT&T. :D

Since that isn't happening, Sammy S4 for me!

The HTC One comes close. It has a few misses. Those misses are, to me, pretty big. In order of importance:

-Better camera

-"HTC" home button and the right button a dedicated app switcher or menu button (would have been even better if they were on-screen buttons or fully gesture based)

-HSPA+ AWS bands for Tmobile's "back up LTE" (42 MB/s download speed would be sweet backup speeds. Really don't know why HTC left this out)

-Power button on the right

-And I guess stock Android by default, though I understand people's acceptance of Sense 5 (some of it is quite nice).

If only HTC had hit some or all of those points, they would have catapulted the One up to the top echelon of truly-ideal-device for me.

Either one of these would be wonderful.

An iPhone 5 with front and back screens that slides together to form a huge tablet size screen.Kind of like this NEC smartphone.

I want the Lumia 920 with the S4's guts and stock Android, and the LED notification light. That would be my perfect setup, for now. I think the Lumia's screen and camera blow the S4 away, and I love the dedicated camera button. Overall the button layout on the 920 is great for me. But WP8 wasn't able to deliver in a few areas of importance for me so I switched to an S4 and that's going well, but I miss the 920's camera and even some of the fantastic Nokia apps.

Do you think that day will ever come where we will be able to mix and match hardware/software with phones the way we can with PC's?

My ideal phone:

1. 4.3 - 5 inch LCD screen, at least 720p. Pretty flexible with screen size. Don't like AMOLEDs. Not too stuck on 1080p.

2. Good camera. I am the kind of person who hates taking multiple devices on the go. A good camera is paramount.

3. Decent audio through headphones.

4. At least 32 GB fixed storage. You can give me sd slot or not after the initial 32 GB, I don't care.

5. Runs stock android OS straight from google.

That's it.

If LG Optimus G ran straight stock android from google, my dream phone would be here months ago.

I am not asking for the moon, but no one is able to combine all of those yet. Wow.

Why? At some point the PPI won't even matter. Your eyes won't be able to tell the difference. The larger the screen, the further your eyes are from the screen and the less PPI is needed to render a sharp image.

Unless you crop a lot or are printing larger prints (~8x10 or larger), then those 13MP are pointless. My dSLR is 10MP and I know will take a better shot of any scene. High MP on a bigger sensor > high MP on a smaller sensor. I'm sure you know that, but just saying.
