I thought since a large number of threads here are devoted to problematic iMacs, I'd make a thread for functioning iMacs. To date, I have had no problems with anything (other than heat, but I was playing games, so that was normal.)

I'm not bragging, I just wanted to see a thread that wasn't one of the three dominating types I see here: the "Problem! Help!" kind, the "I can't wait to see the newest installment of the (comp name here)," and the "How do I do x" threads.

So, feel free to reply if your iMac is working! (Which, I hope, is the majority of us, and for those whose don't, I hope you get it fixed ASAP :D).

While I don't own an iMac or Mac Mini (yet), I'm happy to report that my MacBook Pro is running extremely well.

Excellent idea to create this thread. :)

I love my iMac. No problems here, hope I'm not jinxing myself

My haven't had any problems with my aluminum iMac yet, apart from a few network bugs but seem to all be fixed now, my MBP on the other hand.. had to have the logic board replaced 2 times, there was something wrong with one of my USB port and the audio port cut out. But Apple store fixed it all of 4 times! I wont ever switch back to windows though :p

Bought the aluminum 24 2.4 the day it was announced at an Apple store. So far its been great. Not a single hiccup. Best iMac ive ever owned.

i was growing a little concerned about the screen quality after hearing about this gradient issue. i bought a mac last weekend, arrived earlier in the week, and i'm absolutely thrilled with it. no problems so far and hope it continues that way. :)

I've had my 24" 2.8Ghz iMac now for two weeks. The screen is perfect...no gradient and no backlight bleed. Mine is a BTO iMac so I don't know if that makes a difference. I love that the machine is so quiet. It is so nice to sit and work and not have to hear the roar from my old Mac and my old PC. Leopard has been amazing so far. I even like the wireless mighty mouse!

Hi...

Hi, my name is Omar, and I've been Windoze free for 4 days now and no problems with my 24" 2.4ghz. :D

It's good to hear that people are happy with their machine!
But it makes it even more confusing for those of us who got a problematic machine. It almost seems like a gamble to buy an iMac. I got mine this Monday, and I am returning it today, because I had a serious case of the gradient problem.

White color became yellow/brown on the right side of the screen.

I hope Apple continues to pump out good machines, because I want to buy one soon. But because I got burnt this time, I want to wait for another revision. Hope it comes soon

Good idea for a thread :)

I'm still saving for my iMac and all the "iMac Problems" threads were worrying. I know you only hear when things go wrong and it can be misleading so it's nice to have a positive vibes thread! :D

Well I had a problem with mine that took me 5 months to notice: a very faint line about 4cm long on the screen that was only visible on very light backgrounds and when you looked for it. Once I noticed it it drove me nuts so I sent the machine back to Apple and they promptly replaced the LCD panel.

All is well now and the machine is beautiful. I purchased it on August 7th, 2007, the date of it's release. :D

I switched to Mac in October 2007, apart from some minor problems with OS X
(due to my inexperience) I have had nothing go seriously wrong and the hardware has been faultless. 100% happy here.
