A G5, I took it to an Apple authorized fixit place 3 weeks ago. They are telling me Apple doesdnt have any logic boards instock. I have been 3 weeks without my machine, my business has come to a grind.

Any advice, even though it is warranty, should I expect a little better service? Think it would be worth whining and complaining to someone, whomever?

This seems to be a little more than what I should have to deal with. I spend $2K +, get 1 yr warranty, but Apple cant supply the parts.

What to do, what to do..........

Get another one

If they can't fix the logic board ask them to ship out another one (a refurbished would be fine) and then have them swap the Hard Drives and add what ever Ram you may have had to it.

I think you should call them up like bigrell486 said, tell them you can't work without your computer, and then angle for an Intel iMac. Settle for a refurb G5 with all your stuff added in to it if that doesn't work.

I would definately complain. I think all the companies that make you pay big bucks for extra warranties and phone support are running scams. It's give or take with my iPod support; sometimes if it breaks they'll tel me I have to pay to get it fixed, other times they'll tell me it's out of warranty, but still replace it. I guess it all depends on what kind of mood the guy/girl behind the genious bar is in. Getting back to my point, you pay good money for AppleCare, you shouldn't have to go 2 weeks without your Mac for what you're paying.

I will call tomorrow and tell them I want another machine, and that I cant loose any more business because they can supply warranty parts.

Please post back on what the outcome was and good luck!

I sent it to an Apple dealer. There are no Apples stores under 500 miles from here. Bad enough this place is 120.

Here's the deal:

Called the Apple dealer and told him my concerns. He thought I should call Apple and yell loudly. This seems to be a common occurance. He was told the part should be here tomorrow. He thought I should wait a couple days, if it didnt get here then, call and have at it. He will give me a loaner if it is going to be much longer....if I want.

Call them today, they got the board, installed it, tested it. He told me it will go out today, UPS. Lets see....over 3 weeks wait....hmmmm.
