I'm not sure what I've done lately to make my iMac crash. The last thing I remember is installing Final Cut Pro X on my iMac through AppStore (as a second machine, the program was bought on another one). Kernel Panic, had to restart. Kernel Paniced during boot up with the screen filled with terminal text. Restarted again, and it worked. But suddenly kernel panic again. I restarted. This time, I could use the computer. Until I loaded Final Cut. Kernel Panic.

Then I removed Final Cut, and tried to re-download and install it through AppStore. It begins the installation, and then… Kernel Panic. So now I can't even install the application!

This is what I'm getting:

Code:

Panics Since Last Report: 19

Thanks. I have, however, already gone though all of those steps. Except the "understanding kernel panic logs", which is way over my level of knowledge. As for the rest, nothing has helped. The RAM seems to work fine, I tried removing them one by one, but it didn't help. I get random kernel panics after just a couple of minutes. Sometimes right at the startup. So I tried Memtest for Mac. It found no errors. I've made a clean re-install of Mac OS X. Still the same problem. I'm now at the last step of solutions which means handing it in for repair. It ought to be expensive… :-(

Unless there is one last tip from anyone out there who knows a secret tip that I might have missed out on.

Ok... It's been working flawlessly for a while now. I reinstalled the system, and just as last time I was going to install the 10.7.4 update... But this time I didn't. There is something fishy about the latest update. It all started two days ago when I installed this very update. Beware!
