I have a 20' Intel Duo core 2 Imac (previous white model)

Ok lately my imac has been really acting crappy on me. Whenever i walk away for awhile from the imac, the screen saver will come on, and then i have it set to go to sleep after 30 min for power saving reasons. When i come back to use the computer i am unable to wake it up! I slam on the keyboard and the mouse buttons and it wont wake up!! So then i have to turn it on and off again

Also my imac gives me the damn spinning beach ball of doom after everytime i open system preferences or some programs.

And when i try to restart my imac sometimes, it does not do it, a think says that for example itunes wont shut down. So i click force quit a million times on it and still have no luck

Do you guys have any reccomendations for me on how i can fix this? Any programs i could download? Would it be worth it too take it into apple?

First Try Repairing Permissions.
Second is your keyboard Wireless or Wired? There is a setting you have to enable to allow bluetooth devices to wake up the comptuer.
Third, you may need to reinstall the OS or trash your energy saver plist files and rebuild them.
