Folks, I've spent the last year on a Pixel 4XL, so was excited to be a blue bubble boy again. There is one group chat where I've been the pariah for a while, and when I activated my Pro Max 12 yesterday, it went to blue and I successfully sent a number of iMessages with effects reactions etc. This morning, the chat has gone to green bubbles. There are only three of us in the group and I know all 3 are on iPhone.

Any ideas how to force this back to Blue?

This has a potential suggestion:
Go to Settings > Messages > [...] > Toggle the Send As SMS switch to off. This will still allow you to receive text messages, but all messages you send will be forced to go as iMessages

Wow. Thanks for both suggestions, I'll try this. I went ahead and deleted all existing conversations (I don't care to save old meaningless drivel) and that seems to work so far. If the problem re-occurs I'll try both of these! Thanks!!

I have that issue sometimes when I had to switch Apple IDs on my iPhone back and forth. What usually „fixes“ it, is someone writing me first, then it turns blue. If I am the first one writing, it’s Green

Ok. I think I may have found the root of the issue. It seems some of the folks were using an old "conversation" that has me as an SMS recipient. I created a new group and have asked them to delete the old one. The new one seems to be sticking w/ iMessage...fingers crossed.
