My Ipad 16GB wifi had been working flawlessly for the past 3 weeks.

Was reading a book till about midnight on the Amazon app, turned off the screen and sit the ipad on the nightstand.....still had over 50% battery.... ...went to turn it on this morning and nothing....will not turn on. Plugging in to charger for an hour or the computer doesn't help.

Looks like I'll have to get a replacement. Aaarrrggg.

Omg....

After about 30 seconds.....it actually came on.

Wonder what caused this??

Thanks!!

Shows roughly about 50%.....about where it was last night. Am syncing now so it's just an estimate. I'm just glad it's working and don't have to hassle a return.

same happened here with a 3 day old iPad

was completely unresponsive till the home+sleep button combination

Frozen

Had this happen to my new 3G version too. Sounds like home key and on/off together work like ctrl alt del on the pc.

Spoke to Apple when mine froze solid, including the clock - they said it could have been caused by one of the apps. No issues since..

While plugged in hold down the home button and the power button at the same time until you see the apple boot logo.

Thanks so much cirial. My 64Gb 3G iPad died on me over night too (similar story to original post, was checking email etc and put it to sleep with 87% battery charge. Woke up this morning and it was completely dead. Plugged it in and it would not charge nor even recognise that it was plugged in). I did ty the two button reset but obviously didn't hold them down for long enough.
After reading cirial's post I tried again and held the buttons down for a good 30 secs. It rebooted and appears to be fine.
For the record, my iPad is not jailbroken so it's probably got nothing to do with it.
Thanks again :)
