I've had this issue on my iPad going back 2-3 years. What is wrong?

Interesting find. Check your settings app > Siri & search > scroll down to Safari > show in Search

Interesting find. Check your settings app > Siri & search > scroll down to Safari > show in Search

You solved it!

I turned off "show in search" not because I didn't want quick access to launch it (command+tab is something I constantly invoke on all of my platforms to launch apps) but because I didn't want Safari search results or book marks / history to show up when I did spotlight searches. I guess disabling that makes launching it via spotlight impossible. Interesting. Thanks!
