This thing will be massive. Almost like a gaming device. Let’s see what reviewers think of the balance and holding it in portrait mode for extended periods of time. Landscape mode I’m sure that thing will be a beauty.

Somethings not adding up here. The iPhone 12 pro max is 2.8mm taller and .3mm wider. That case looks considerably bigger than what the dimensions would suggest.
That case are much thicker ! Hope it going to fit .

My, my, the size difference between the case and the iPhone 11 Pro Max, is quite considerable.

A good comparison, would be to place the iPhone 11 Pro Max, inside the iPhone 12 Pro Max case, and take a photo.

Your images are seriously making me consider the iPhone 12 Pro.
The 12 Pro Max, might actually be too big. I remember trying the Note range, and thinking those were too big (6.7, I believe).

So, there’s that...

Looking at these photos again, they seem a bit off. The dimensions of the 12PM is only slightly bigger than the 11PM so it shouldn’t look this different.

Can you measure the inside dimensions of the case and see if they compare with those on the Apple website?

Hmm, wondering if the cases I received are the correct size. One is definitely wrong because it’s slightly different from the other 2. There is an extra gap at the top for the height on all 3, but the width on one is slightly smaller. Won’t know until at least a month from now, unfortunately.

Even better if you can place the iPhone 11 Pro Max inside the case and take a photo...
Here’s one with the 11pm inside the 12pm case and one with the 11pm next to the 12pm pitaka case. The case on the left is for my 12pro that’s on the way. And the case in the middle is for the 11pm.

Thanks for these pics.
Really shows that the 12PM does indeed look taller and wider. Happy with my choice of 12P this year.

That is way too big for a phone, personally. Kudos to those that put up with it because that screen would be insane but isn’t worth the size and weight for me.

So by looking at the pitaka pictures here, it seems that the 12 pro is not that much smaller than the existing 11 PM. What do you all think ?

That’s a fair and interesting statement. When I was comparing phones last year in the Apple Store (remember those, lol), I noted that the size difference in-hand between the 11 Pro and the 11 Pro Max was not that large. The 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max gain most of their screen size from bevel thinning, they are not maybe noticeably larger in hand than the 11 models, though the external dimensions are slightly larger.

My conclusion was that if I got an 11 Pro Max, the case would be critical. I ended up getting the 11 Pro; this year the 12 Pro Max for the camera, I can no longer resist, it will be my first Max.

The Apple silicone battery case made it difficult to get even the 11 Pro out of even cargo pants pockets, so a silicone or other ‘sticky’ case will be a non-starter for me for the 12 Pro Max, as would be a large case like some of the the Otterbox cases. I have tried the Caudabe Sheath on the 11 Pro, and like it, it seems a good balance between size and protectiveness, and the material is not ‘sticky’ to fabric.

A Max case for me needs to be 1) not increasing the size that much, 2) not made of a sticky material that makes it difficult to get out of pants pockets. Of course if you carry a purse or a murse, or put the phone in a back pocket, you can get away with a lot more case size at least.

Hope this helps

Thanks for sharing! This gives me a good visual overview...
