My phone's camera is rather blurry, I think there is something wrong with. Especially since it's supposed to be 3 megapixels. Anyone else have this issue?

The photos will appear low-res on the iPhone itself but should look better once you load it to a computer.

Lighting conditions also matter.

is it the camera that's blurry or the photos that you take with it?

if it's the camera i'd suggest getting your eyes tested :)

You really need to post some pics, OP. No one's going to be able to really help you until then. What you think is blurry, might be totally normal to most.

I'm looking for information on this too. I got my 3GS a week ago and I immediately saw that the pics were generally out of focus. I tried to shoot in every way in all kinds of light but it didn't help. I took a comparison shot together wita a colleague who has a 3G 2mp camera.

Although the 3gs makes bigger images, the 2mp pics were much more focused and crisp. My pics just lookes like enlarged 1 megapixel images.

I suspect it has something to do with movement of the camera, maybe because of it´s new filming capability.

If I hold the phone towards a surface and take a shot the focus gets much better. If I hold it in my hand I can see that the image flickers.

Maybe it's a bad camera, the images people put up at flicker taken with the 3gs looks much sharper.

3 things to check before returning the phone because of a broken camera:

1) make sure the lens is clean - really clean - not just wipe on your pants clean.

2) brace the camera completely still against a solid fixed object when taking a photo - edge of a table or side of a tree or something.

3) make sure the lighting is bright and direct.

With the 3GS, on the preview display tap the center of what you want to see in focus a couple seconds before lightly brushing the shutter button.

If none of that works even in several different daylight photos, suspect a broken autofocus or whacked lens, and try for a warranty repair/replacement.

Download the pics to a photo program on your Mac or PC for quality comparisons.

It's just a pinhole lens, so don't expect to enlarge the photo as much as when using a camera with a real lens (an ancient but full-sized 2 MP SLR will take much better photos).

If it's blur, it's definitely due to shaking.
iPhone doesn't have "anti-shake" or "image stabilizer".
