My #1 concern here is: Is Application data stored only on the phone or does the iPhone back it up? Is there a way to restore the data? (For instance I had saved snipes in Appsniper, lists in listomni, items from grocery IQ and had saved game levels on various games.) Now that they are gone from the phone, are they gone forever? Would a restore from the last backup fix it?

----------
In-depth Explanation:
During my last backup and sync my iPhone uninstalled most of my Apps. The backup seemed normal (except the bar listing types of media was all orange), but then after the backup it suddenly said, "uninstalling Appsniper, etc., etc.". I would have stopped it but I thought it had something to do with adding App updates. When I unplugged my phone after the backup to my horror most of my Apps were gone.

I resynced my phone and added back some of the apps that had been deleted, hoping my computer had saved the App data. However, the apps were restored to their original defaults without any of the data I'd saved to them. I am considering restoring my phone from the latest backup to restore my Apps. Do the iPhone backups restore the App data? If not, then it's not worth restoring, but wanted to find out before trying. I have a couple apps currently left on the phone that have data I don't want to lose. If I do a restore I don't want those to disappear too. But if i knew all could be restored I would do it.

Sorry to hear about this. Yes, the backups also store program data, so you should be able to get everything back IF you can get to that particular backup.

For AppSniper specifically, if you've saved your snipes to our server using "Backup to Server" option from the config pane, you can simply reinstall AppSniper, and then click on "Restore from Server" and you'll be back up and running to how you were before.

Appsniper

Thanks for answering the question. I saw the backup feature in appsniper after I had already lost my snipes. I really wish I had used that and now i know for the future. Will definitely always use that feature now. By the way, appsniper is awesome. I check it everyday. One of my fav apps.

As for my other apps, I think I might try a reinstall from backup. I'm still nervous about doing that so if anyone has any advice about restoring from backup let me know.
