I'm wondering about the battery life of my 8GB iPhone (second one, first had a dead pixel, so I exchanged it). It says, under Usage, that it's gotten 4h39m of usage and 2d12h of standby. The last battery warning I got was 10%. Is that normal (good) battery life?

Edit: By the way, I have been leaving it on standby/sleep at night. Should I be turning it off? Does the on/off change waste battery power, or is it worth it?

That seems to be good compared to what other reports I've seen. The key thing is what you're actually doing. With the iPod you were either playing music or watching videos, primarily playing music. With the iphone you have a cell phone, playing muisc, watching videos locally, watching videos over youtube, surfing the internet, checking email, etc. Depending on what you're actually doing is going to play a big role. The biggest drain I've seen so far is browsing the web.

At any rate, it seems like most people, after the initial OMG IPHONE stage gets a couple days out of it. I just plug mine in every night just out of habit and I never really worry about battery life.

Me too.

I also ordered the powerjolt car charger just in case I am running around town going from meeting to meeting. In traffic, i predict it will keep me close to topped off because I could see me using the iphone a lot those days keeping up with the office, or watching 30 rock while I wait for a client :)
