I recently run my iPhone X in washing machine, after that it stopped working.
Can someone guide me what is next immediate step to avoid the damage. The phone is auto switched off after sometime.
As there are complete lockdown and no repair shops open. Can someone guide?

I don’t know if there are any steps to avoid damage, I think any damage is already done. Do you have AppleCare+?

Damage has been already done. Your best bet is to get a replacement from Apple.

With water damage, every minute counts and drying it out is doing more harm than good. The device would need immediate cleaning to bring it back to a reliable condition with any repair.
