this is wierd.. when i put my iphone into silent, it doesn't vibrate. when i put my phone into normal, it vibrates. what could be causing this? should i do a restore? thanks

Settings - Sounds - Vibrate on/off. I'm guessing it's set to off for silent, and on for ring :D
I get what you're saying, but thats not what i mean. Its kind of hard to explain. You know when you turn your phone onto silent, it vibrates as a kind of verification that its in silent? Well when I turn my phone onto silent, it gives no such verifications. When I turn my phone onto normal, it vibrates, the same verification one would get putting it into silent.

yer this happened for me it was because i turned off vibrate for silent. just check that you have it enabled

do what Sirobin said, this happened to me and is probably the fault as it was for mine (admittedly I did put it this way for a reason).
