My iPhone is recommending a charge limit

Is this new? I’m running 18.1 bets on an iPhone 16 Pro Max and I had this notification recommending a charge limit.
I’ve never seen this before on my 15 Pro Max!

Yes, it's new in iOS 18.0. Previously, 80% was the only option.

Haven't had this on my launch day 16 Pro Max yet!

I did set it to 80% charge limit out of the box so I'm unsure I would get that notification anyway?

I got it too. And I never considered a charge limit until I saw that So I did the recommendation (85%) so we shall see!

Edit: took it off and went back to optimized 100%. I was looking more at my phone charge than anything else. Became pointless

I got that too on my 16 PM but I upgrade every year so it doesn’t make sense for me to enable that. I leave it at 100%

I believe the recommendation is new in 18.1. I had it pop up for me the other day. I had it set at 90% and the recommendation was to switch it to 85%.

It is a wise suggestion… it’s not healthy for a battery to stay at 100% for long time
