Every morning before I walk out the door and head to work, I grabbed my iPhone that was safely in its acrylic case and snapped it into the bet buckle clip. I walked out the front door and down the street to where I parked the night before. The ground was wet from the overnight rain. I live in the city of Chicago and in some areas where the street meets the curb there tends to be up to 6 inches of standing water. Well, I went to sit in my car as I have hundreds of times before, only this time the belt clip that holds the iPhone caught on the side of the seat. It snapped, instantly sending the phone upwards, outward, and then downward into the mucky waters below.
There it sat, face down and under water.
My heart stops.
I snatched my phone up, soaking wet, as quickly as possible. It was fully submerged for only a moment or two, and to my complete relief, suffered no noticable damage. I checked the screen, speaker, and buttons and they all seem to be in working order. I have not yet had the chance to check the microphone, I will do that shortly.
Needless to say, I am very lucky.
