today i disconnected the screen assembly from the unit, the normal 1,2, and three cables that connect it entirely, and when i reconnected them the iphone won't turn on AT ALL. it is completely dead. it won't even show up on the computer. I didn't do anything wrong, i've done this plenty of times to this particular iphone, but for some reason it won't turn on. the only thing i could think of is that it shorted out when i disconnected the screen assembly. the iphone was still on when i disconnected the screen, and i saw it turn off when i disconnected the third cable. i've tried a hard reset and i can't get it in DFU mode, any suggestions? i feel like i need something that will bring the screen up again, because it should work, i just don't know what do to. please help me and thanks in advance!

i would also like to add that this is a 3g iphone

ooooooh...bad move.

I agree, it sounds like you may have shorted something out - especially knowing that it was turned on when you disconnected it.

Go here and consult them about the problem. They will know what to do. :)

Make sure to put it back together first**

i think i a "genius" cold figure out that it's been taken apart. After all it is their expertise, right? And any warranty on this thing is completely out of the question. i think i'll need to find an alternative solution ;)
