  • I decided to get iPhone XS Max (512GB/Space Gray/Unlocked) from Apple Store in Richmond, VA during Christmas trip.
  • My dad's iPhone X is faster LTE than my iPhone XS Max which is failed!
On my dad's iPhone X:
  • Download: 29 MB/s
  • Upload: 16.5 MB/s
On my iPhone XS Max:
  • Download: 24.8 MB/s
  • Upload: 14.7 MB/s
Used Speed Test by Ookla app.

Due to:
  • Antennagate?
  • Poor WiFi and LTE Performance?

Did you normalized the testing method? Same servers? Did you test using the closest server? Carrier server? Or Speedtest server? Did you run the test concurrent or after each test? Using physical SIM? eSIM?

If your carrier uses eSIM, I would test it as well since I noticed better reception and speed than physical SIM on T-Mobile.

I always use my main SIM card (Physical) and not using eSIM on my iPhone XS Max. I'm currently using AT&T on my iPhone XS Max. My dad used his main SIM card (Physical) on his iPhone X with AT&T.
