iPod My Itunes Account, not my music?

OK, I spilled coffee on my MB Pro, in the mean time the Marketing Director our company left and I jacked her MB Pro, I'm going to fix mine and give it to my son, and I'll keep the new MBP I got from work. The girl had an itunes account on it, so I logged her out, and logged into my account with my password/login. My purched music isn't there, hers is?? What's up with that? I just want to clear her out and run my account through here, why is her music showing up, and not mine? I backed up my music folder with all my tunes, so I can move it, but how do I shake her?

Logging out of the previous owner's account does not remove the music they downloaded, nor does logging into your account automatically download your music.

Check to see if "Automatic Downloads" is checked in your iTunes preferences under the Store tab when you're logged into your account. Perhaps that will help.
 
OK, I'll try that, in the mean time, how do I get rid of her, and make it so when I log in it's my account, I still see her ipod, iphone, etc. in the devices list

Can I just do a find and delete all the itunes files and download a new version?

I tried the automatic download, it says the computer is not authorized, I see the Deauthorize Audible Account, it comes up with a password/login to Deauthorize but she's gone and I can try some combos, but not sure how she set it up, I could probably track her down and email her if I had to, but I hear she didn't leave on good terms.

Also, what happens when I Deauthorize the Mac?
 
Your iTunes account is used to purchase music. iTunes shows you the music that is on the computer's hard drive. They are two different things. iTunes is not a cloud service, and it doesn't give you unlimited access to all of your music on every computer. That's what the new iCloud is for.
 
I understand that bkap16, I backed up my music folder on my old mac, I'll just replace it on the new mac, should work, I'm just trying to get rid o f the old accounts on the computers so I can start off clean with my own, you wouldn'y think it would be this difficult.
 
OK, this is getting beyond frustrating. I created a new user account, logged into my account, nothing is there, even my purchased. I went to my old Mac and copied my "music" folder with all my music in it to my remote drive, I went to my new Mac and couldn't even find the music folder. I poped in a disc and copied it, then I did a search for it and located it. I then copied all the music from my remote drive into the same folder, I log into my itunes account and all that is there is the one disc I just downloaded. I search for it, find the folder the new disc is in, and when I open the folder, all my music is it, but none shows up in itunes??

I then turn on Homesharing, log into itunes, and all my music appears, though no playlists or anything, but the music is there, as soon as i turn off Homesharing, it disapears. I tried to look for an import or "save", a setting to make my new Mac the main computer, nothing. My other Mac is done, is there no way to get my music on my new Mac or do I have to start from scratch? This, especially for a Mac, is BS.

Also, whare exactly to I drop it, do I select "Library" and drop it in the main window where the list shows up, or for instance do I drag it on top of the icon of my ipod?

Three simplest ways to do it:

Option #1 - Go to your old computer and export a complete backup of your iTunes Library. Then go to your new computer and in iTunes choose to import the library.

Option #2 - Turn Home Sharing back on at the new computer. All your music on the old computer should show up. Select all the music, apps, etc. you want to import.

Option #3 - Use iTunes Match and have it all done for you automatically with the backup from the cloud.

Drag the entire folder either into the Library window or onto the iTunes dock icon.
 
Thanks everyone, Nermal's procedure worked, no play lists, but at least I got my tunes
