The screenshot says it all really. It's not a database issue (copying across my backups didn't work) and other logins do not have this problem. I tried trashing the 4 .plist files in my home folder's preferences folder. If I go into preferences in iTunes or look at the mp3 ID3 tags, the encoding is fine. It's the text encoding the main iTunes window that is all wrong.

Any ideas? :confused:
 
I had to shutdown my iMac via the power button because it wasn't doing anything when I tried logging out.

I've just noticed that the encoding in Azureus is slightly off too: lots of randomly bolded text.

I don't use any iTunes add-ons.

No problems with other users.
 
I should have been more specific, I guess. :)

What I meant by haxie was, "How did you change your iTunes to get the unified color instead? Did you use Uno, did you use Shapeshifter, etc? If so, did you attempt to disable this program and see if the jarbling is still there after reboot?"

Uno is a lot safer than ShapeShifter, because it modifies a few files instead of sitting between the user and, essentially, Aqua.

Ahh I getcha. :) It was UNO and uninstalling it didn't solve things (and nor has reinstalling it).
 
I've already cleared the Internet, System, User and Font caches using Onyx :(

I'll try doing it manually though using that article as a guide, thanks!
 
Except I don't have any of the files that it mentions :confused:
 
Hmm. Well, I was almost certain it was due to some corrupted font cache. You tried running FontFinagler (I do recommend it for this sort of thing as this its sole purpose in life) and getting rid of some of those files?

You should almost definitely have a com.apple.ATS folder in your /System/Library/Caches (don't let that path fool, you either, as com.apple.ATS still hosts per-user files) folder.

EDIT: If it's not a corrupted font cache -- and there are many -- then I guess I'm not quite certain what it is. One thing is for certain, though, is that it's a corrupted file residing either in com.apple.ATS (or a directory like it, com.apple.ATS has caches sorted by UID) or in your home directory.
