Over the years I've created quite a few custom EQ presets in iTunes and applied each one to some of the tracks (though the vast majority of tracks use the default set). Recently I noticed the custom presets weren't showing in the EQ window, just the default set.

Using Time Machine I saw that on the 7 November the size of the eq.plist had reduced from 33k to 14k. It was a simple matter to restore an earlier 33k plist; however, when relaunching iTunes, only the default set shows in the EQ window even though the size of the plist seems to suggest my custom presets are buried somewhere in there.

How do I get my custom presets back? I haven't created any since 2021 but no matter how far I go back in TM for 2024 and 2023, no restored 33k plist shows my custom presets.

Now resolved - I restored the earlier plists but didn't relaunch iTunes until I'd rebooted, and then the custom presets were there again .
