Thats ashame your going through this, but here's the following what you can do:

  • AppleCare (Your problem will be solved rather quick this way)
  • TRY THIS :

turn OFF the MacBook Air (Force it Off)

    press OPTION/COMMAND/R/P

All 4 of those keys at the same time AND KEEP THEM DOWN

now - stretch a pinky and push the power button on your MacBook Air.

KEEP THE 4 KEYS HELD DOWN.

your MacBook Air will start up - then beep, and then restart.

then it will beep, and restart.

then it will beep and restart

    THREE TIMES

after the 3rd time , let go of the keys on the keyboard.

let it boot into OSX and see if all is better now.

Apple care tech called this a HARDWARE RESET.
    (Just try it)

  • Archive and install

  • Reset the PRAM

  • Again:Contact Apple care support to see if there is some firmware that can be installed. It sounds like you will have to take it in for servicing.

We have the exact same problem with our MBA rev. A, all keyboard and touch pad not working one day suddenly. The computer is with my wife in China, when we go there for warranty service, the tech guy said it could be water damage in that case we have to pay for it, but of course we never get any water on it.

In the end, they replaced the motherboard and the service is free (under warranty). So don't waste time reinstalling OSX, just go to an Apple store.

[1]AppleCare : we don't have that here in Jordan we have thieves my friend went to replace his trackpad ! they charged him for the whole mother bored !!

[2]The restart and pushing buttons: it restarted three times then it booted but noo respond (not a hardware problem the keys are working)

[3]Archive and install: thats what this is all about thats the only way to do that but the keyboard isn't working so i can boot the Osx dvd !
