Absolutely hating 26, wish I had never upgraded.
Anyway, Mac mini M2, is anyone able to help with the following:

I don't want to have to 'login' when the Mac reboots - before the upgrade it would just reboot to the desktop, no password required, but now it asks for a login so the machine won't restart without me physically logging in, which is no good to me. How can this be fixed? I have gone into System Settings but nothing works there.

When I use the 'System Settings' app and click on the item in the left menu bar eg. 'Spotlight' nothing initially happens. Then if I click on a different option eg. 'Wallpaper' it shows me the spotlight settings. If I then click on another item such as 'Focus' it shows me the Wallpaper settings - basically whichever item I click on it shows me the previous one I clicked on.

I had my desktop background set up so that it changes to a new photo from my photos library every 2 minutes - now I can choose from the Apple wallpapers but it will not accept any of my own images - nothing happens when I choose them in the 'Your Photos' option in Wallpaper.

I have only updated yesterday as was away for the week and have had nothing but problems so far - is there any way to downgrade or am I now stuck?

It looks like Tahoe just changes some system settings for no reason, my desktop background is different, my computer's name changed, and suddenly I've got some widgets on the desktop. And that's just what I found after one minute. **** this.

Automatic logon is disabled when FileVault is enabled. I'm not on Tahoe, but I seem to remember reading that it automatically enables FileVault.

The downside of annual updates, is you can fall into a trap of changes for the sake of changes.

For Tahoe, the only major feature is Liquid Glass, and say its reception has been rocky is an understatement. There's no other new feature - just tweaks and the ability to make some minor customization.

Wow this sounds really screwy. You may have to reinstall. But first let it run for a while. Maybe it needs to reindex. Then you can try contacting Apple to see if they have any ideas

and now it has decided that I can't have my own photos as wallpaper - at least up until this afternoon there was an option for adding 'my photos' in Wallpaper (even though it didn't work), but this has now disappeared and there isn't even that section!

I have tried reinstalling but that has made no difference.

Truly, this is the worst OS I think I have ever used - there should not be these problems on an 'upgrade' or reinstall, I am seriously thinking about going back to Windows after 25 years on a Mac.
