My lucky day!

I lucked out and scooped an 8gig today, after several days of kicking myself for not getting one on iDay!

Called the Apple Store (Lenox Mall, Atlanta GA) this morning (as I've done every morning for the past 4 days), and no iPhones in stock. Followed the advice of some folks on here and called back at 1pm to see about a mid-day shipment. Sure enough they had a shipment today of 8gigs. Huray!!

After work I swung by the store. My heart sank as I rounded the corner to see dozens of people crowded around the iPhone table. With little hope I went up to the Genius Bar, to find out they still had 8gig's. I slapped my AMEX on the table and happily left with the little black bag in hand!

I've spent the past hour getting acquainted with my iPhone, and I'm syncing a 5gig playlist as I type.

Hope all the unfortunate folks out there can get their iPhones soon!

Congrats! It's amazing how the interest is still so high! How many others were buying while you were there?

I wonder how the sales figures are going? Still no comments from Apple...

I have had mine since iDay and i have to admit even though i used it everyday and i'm getting used to it, i always have a moment of that 'wow'ness i had when i got it out on that day. It really is a thing of beauty. I congradulate you.

There were at least 10 people that were purchasing iphones at the genius bar when i was there. Probablly another 20-30 crowded around the demo table, and this was at like 3pm (before most people were out of work)
