My M2 iPad Air running iOS 18.2 occasionally, randomly locks. When I try to unlock it, Touch ID doesn’t respond and neither swiping up nor touching the screen brings up the password entry screen. Siri is still available and the only way I’ve found to get the iPad unlocked is to ask Siri to reset the iPad.
I do have a folding cover that shuts the iPad when closed but this has never been a problem before and the auto lock/unlock when the cover is closed setting is off. Auto lock is set to 5 minutes but, like I said, this has never been a problem before.
I believe it started after installing iOS 18.1.1 a week or two ago. I installed 18.2 today but it is still happening.
Is this a known issue with the latest iOS updates? Anyone know how to fix this.
Thanks

Asking Siri to restart. I can’t do a power off or forced restart. There is no response from the buttons or touching the screen. I’ve had the cover off for a few hours and it hasn’t done it again, yet.
