Do yourself a favor, and buy an additional 2gb ram. It's really the starting "sweet spot" on these machines... and allows for faster memory bandwidth by enabling dual channels.

at $120 it's about the most insanely good deal, as well...

yeah, in 2 months I buy a 1tb second hd and a 4ram more, for have 6ram and 1.5tb on my hands

I had one of those 2008 octa core mac pros! awesome machine. sold it a few years back for more than I bought it for. very nice machine. Congratulations on your purchase
