After my Mac Pro boot my GPU fan will loud up.
I can stop it loud by sleep my mac pro and it will be back normally.

My Mac Pro is 2009 DP and 7950 PC flash GPU.
Have try another GPU such ass GTX 680 Flash and GT120 original.
and this problem still here. Do your guys can fix it?

I believe it's normal when (re) booting your MP, the fan(s) of the GPU spins to a max and then turn to idle mode. With the 8800GT it's just the same.

GL & Cheers

I have the same issue, i.e. loud GPU fan noise and high PCIe-RPM directly after boot-up. While it does quiet down after a while it helps to briefly tax the GPU (i.e. with some GPU benchmark tool such as OpenGL viewer, furmark) after which the fans come down very quickly. I think this has been reported before.

Try slot 2.

If that doesn't fix it, you'll either have to use your sleep trick or tax the GPU trick.

Same Problem since 10.9.2. (PCI-Fan spinnig high)

Macs Fan Control help me to bring down the PCI-Fan and run it at normal speed of 900 RPM.

CUDA-Z works also and you must only start the Programm. But you must have the CUDA Driver installed.

Macs Fan Control was a better choice for me.
