Hi
I have mac pro early 2009 2,26 dual.

when i press the power button, it does nothing, no fans, no lights, no startup sound... Could the problem be the power supply?

Can help me ?

Thanks

With the Mac Pro connected to the mains power, check the diagnostic LEDs and see where the failure is. Could be a dead PSU or even a bricked BootROM, DIAG LEDs will help you narrow it.

Start with page 28 of Apple Technician Guide for early-2009 Mac Pro.

How critical is the power supply’s EEE to the machine? I have an early 2008 with a serial #G88520LRXYL. I think LRX is the EEE but have not been able to find a replacement 661-4677. Popped it open and see a bad cap but it’s not easy to ID or get to. It’s between T400 and HS2 Next to C410. Can’t tell much else without some iron work. Any suggestions would help. PS my GSX days are long over so I no longer have access to the manuals.
